Genzebe DibabaShanghai, China – Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia won the women’s 5,000m race at the IAAF Diamond League competition here today.

Dibaba won the race in 14:45:92, followed by fellow compatriot Meseret Defar (14:47:76) and Viola Jelagat Kibiwot of Kenya (14:48:29). Buze Diriba Kejela and Gelete Burka finished in 6th and 8th places respectively.

In the men’s 1,500m race, Mekonnen Gebremedhin of Ethiopia finished second, behind Asbel Kiprop of Kenya. Teshome Dirirsa came in 8th place.
