Hawassa, Ethiopia - Amora Gedel or roughly ‘Eagle’s Valley’ in Hawassa of the Southern Region is home to Lake Hawassa, the chosen playground and home of Marabou Storks (locally known as Aba Koda).

Fishermen and some tourists that work at and visit the lake have gotten these large birds hooked on the fish they throw to them.

These days, you are more likely to find the humongous birds roaming the asphalt of the parking lots than at the edge of the lake, on their usual stomping grounds.
