The New York Red Bulls have acquired forwardÃ‚Â Andre AkpanÃ‚Â from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2015 MLS Draft, the two clubs announced on Thursday.

Akpan, 25, has been a member of the Rapids since he was selected in the second round (22nd overall) in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. During his time in Colorado, he amassed four goals in 29 appearances, including a career-best three goals in 15 appearances in 2012. He was also a member of the Rapids’ MLS Cup-wininng squad in 2010 and the US U-20 squad that reached the quarterfinals of the 2007 U-20 World Cup.
