Marcus Samuelsson, former “Top Chef Masters” contestant and chef at New York’s Red Rooster in Harlem, will be coming over to the best coast to cook at Govind Armstrong’s Baldwin Hills restaurant, Post & Beam.

Samuelsson’s hopes to bring a taste of Harlem to Baldwin Hills with the meal, which is also meant to commemorate Black History Month. The menu will draw on Samuelsson’s rich cultural roots. (He was born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden.) Ethiopian tacos made with the sourdough-like Injera flatbread, braised oxtail with fried plantains, and crawfish beignets with a honey beet tartare sauce are just a few of the dishes he plans on cooking.

The meal will take place on February 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets go for $140 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity, and a portion of the proceeds will go to C-CAP, a nonprofit that works with public schools across the country to prepare under served high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
