Insights of the Ethiopian Society

There aren’t many shows that are relaxing, entertaining and at the same time educating. Luckily for us, now there is ‘Insight with Antoine Lindley’ which is a show that started airing recently on ETV 1 and ETV2.

The show focuses on people, events and headline news that are affecting the Ethiopian society. It is the kind of show that you can watch huddled up with your family and friends late at night. Created and produced by Antoine Lindley, who is also the host of the show, the different episodes feature storylines such as the journey of Ethiopian music where Antoine sits down with some of Ethiopia’s top music artists, like Alemayehu Eshete, Kuku Sebsebe and Girma Negash, where he takes a closer look at the history of Ethiopian music, the inception and rise of its modern version, and the influence it has had on the music scene today.

The show also takes a look at the fashion industry.One of the episodes looked at how the fashion industry is always looking for new things and how Africa is becoming a source of inspiration to many designers. Eco-fashion being the new trend all over the world, it looked at garment making in Ethiopia using hand-woven cotton and the transformation of modern Ethiopian designs. It also showed scenes from the “Hub of Africa Fashion Week” that was held at the African Union Conference Center. Hub of Africa Fashion Week is one of the anticipated events that is organized every year. The show focused on the event organizers.

“I believe that the issues the show revolves around and the people I interview are really interesting and I have gotten positive feedbacks from a lot of people,” said Antoine.

Antoine Lindley, who previously worked with BET (Black Entertainment Television) Networks, was listed in Uptown Magazine, a U.S publication, as one of the 60 Hot List in film and television in Washington DC. This insight show is not Antoine’s first production on Ethiopia. He has also done “Celebrate Ethiopia,” a high profile cultural production in Washington DC, celebrating Ethiopia’s rich culture, history and music.

“Insight with Antoine Lindley” has many more exciting episodes up its sleeves and the host promises to give audiences many more stimulating and thrilling experiences.
