Ethiopian Airlines commences flight to Kuala Lumpur

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia  (WIC) ¬- Ethiopian Airlines has commenced its service of three flights weekly between Addis Ababa-Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The plane made its maiden landing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Wednesday and was given a warm welcome by officials.

CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Tewolde Gebremariam said Ethiopian Airlines’ flight to Kuala Lumpur would help to connect the extensive Malaysian businesses to Africa. The weekly flights are on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The commencement of the flight to Kuala Lumpur increases international destination of the Ethiopian to 70.

The airline also said it aims for Kuala Lumpur to serve as a hub from which passengers arriving from African destinations can connect to other Southeast Asian nations such as Singapore and Indonesia.

According to Ethiopian Radio & Television Agency (ERTA), Ethiopian Airlines is undertaking expansion works to achieve its Vision 2025 through buying new aircrafts and opening new destinations.
