Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian U-17 team beat its Tunisian counterpart 3-0 here today in the first leg match of the second round of the 10th African U-17 Championship.
The two teams will play the return leg match in Tunis in two-week time.

The Ethiopian U-17 will face the winner of Botswana and Burkina Faso in the 3rd round if it eliminates Tunisia.
Morocco will host the finals in 2003.
According to a report posted on EthioFootball.com, Coach Yared Tolossa selected 20 players, between the ages of 15-16, from 5 different regions of the country. Addis Ababa supplied 9 players, followed by Oromia (4), SNNP (4), Amhara (2) and Gambela (1).

foot ball this time has become more of a psychological game . i feel the Ethiopian players are emotionally intact .Thus have to take the lead in first fiften minutes by breaking the defense wall of the Sudanese who are expected to play a defensive game .
