Libya defeats Ethiopia 2-1 in soccer friendly
Zwara, Libya Ã¢â‚¬â€œ The Ethiopian national soccer team lost 2-1 to Libya in a soccer friendly match played here last night, reported Ermias Amare.
Oumed Oukri, who recently left Defence Force to join defending champions St. George, scored EthiopiaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s lone goal (72Ã¢â‚¬â„¢).
The match was played in Zwara, a port city in northwestern Libya, which is 102 kilometers away from the capital Tripoli, and has a population of around 180,000.
Ã¢â‚¬Å“Ã¢â‚¬ÂThe air was very humid and not very conducive for our playersÃ¢â‚¬Â, said assistant coach Seyoum Kebede.
Farhan Mohammed, who watched the match live on Libya TV, said that the referee called back EthiopiaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s goal in the first half for offside, but he was pleased by the overall performance of our team, specially the defence line.
