Zwara, Libya – The Ethiopian national soccer team lost 2-1 to Libya in a soccer friendly match played here last night, reported Ermias Amare.
Oumed Oukri, who recently left Defence Force to join defending champions St. George, scored Ethiopia’s lone goal (72’).
The match was played in Zwara, a port city in northwestern Libya, which is 102 kilometers away from the capital Tripoli, and has a population of around 180,000.
“”The air was very humid and not very conducive for our players”, said assistant coach Seyoum Kebede.
Farhan Mohammed, who watched the match live on Libya TV, said that the referee called back Ethiopia’s goal in the first half for offside, but he was pleased by the overall performance of our team, specially the defence line.

Oumed Oukri is one of the best Ethiopian footballer I have ever seen but, I don’t know why he is not a permanent member of Ethiopian national team. I sense something wrong when I don’t see him in the national team.
