BIG BIG BIG mistake repeated. Dejen deserves the gold but he lost it for simple technical mistake that he kept himself traped inside the pack just before 100m of the finishline. He has excellent speed and finishing sprint and I hope he will learn from such kind of mistakes. Your position and performance at the last lap determined your success or loss. We hope to see his victory in the next international competition. Good luck Dejen, you are one of the heros of the London olympics.

I am proud of Dejen, Mo could have run for devastated homeland of his no matter what! Somalia needed him more that Brittania. But what happened to the two runners 12th and 13th! I feel we owned 10 and 5 thousand meters as such my expectation is great for the future. Whe I wrie this it has also been 16 hours since none of our men’s Marathoners couldn’t finish the 42 K! What a shame!

But if Moges is right, some of the runners may have been working to block the Ethiopians so they won’t in front in the final round.

Mo is great runner but i believe Dejen is better!! If Dejen had managed to catch up with Mo before 400m was left, I i believe he would have out sprinted Mo in the final meters.

I believe Dejen Gebremeskel was victimized here… The perpetrator Bitch Lagat!!! Look what Lagat was doing(use the times the Olympic counter on the screen)

Specially @ 12:27:09 & @12:56:6 Dejen was trying to avoid Lagat. At some point Dejen had to run zigzag between athletes to stay away from Lagat… But Lagat kept on chasing him like a soccer player… I think US team was working for British.Which is illegal.

It is the worst result for Ethiopia comparing to the past , also we do not have strong men athletes in 5000 and 10000 which was our traditional victories , the other problem was training athletes till injuries in Olympic fields which missed medals in women race of 800 and 1500 .. will EAF revise for future strategy????

  7. Bisrat says:

I blame the Ethiopian coaches for not teaching the tricky nature of those games. It is sad to see Ethiopian athletes loosing only because of tactical reasons, how come Ethiopians lost the medal while they have the potential and get locked in a crowd of athletes?

  8. Keraman says:

Apparently Mo Farah has become a very tough, elite runner!! Dejen did pretty good overall but I don’t know what happened to the other two Ethiopian runners. They were no where close though they were among the top 3 with best times throughout the year. For some reason, they disappeared in the final race!

I am happy for both Mo and our own Dejen. We should all applause Dejen for coming 2nd and winning silver for all of us. The kid is still young and many years of winning chances ahead of him. Gold is excellent but in the meanwhile silver does not come that easy either. I say kudos to the lad and wish him gold in many races to come. I am not sure how many of you are old enough to remember the losing streaks our hero the late Mamo Wolde endured before he won gold. He did not win gold for more than 12 years and 3 Olympics. He started going to the Olympics in 1956 and his first gold did not come until the Mexico City Olympics of 1968. So this kid did an excellent job today and we should all congratulate him for that. Dejen!! Of you go to The Rio 2016 Olympics, of you go and Allah(God)Speed!!!
