Dinknesh “Lucy” qualifies for African Women Soccer Championship finals

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – The Ethiopian women national soccer team “Dinknesh” (Lucy) qualified to the finals of the African Women Championship (AWC) after defeating its Tanzanian counterpart, the Twiga Stars, 1-0 in the return leg match played here today.

The Ethiopian team has thus qualified on a 3-1 aggregate score following its 2-1 victory in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia two weeks ago.

The Ethiopian team dominated the match and scored its lone goal thanks to Birtukan Gebrekristos 65 minutes into the game, according to a report posted by the Addis Ababa-based EthioFootball.com.
