IAAF World Indoor Championships: Mohammed Aman of Ethiopia advances to final of 800m race

Istambul, Turkey – 18-year-old Mohammed Aman of Ethiopia advanced to the final of the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships’ 800m men’s race after winning Heat 1 in 1:48.07 here today.

Aman will be joined by Jakub Holusa of the Czech Republic, who won Heat 3 in a season best time of 1:47.23, Adam Kszczot (Poland), Adam Andrew Osagie (UK), Michael Tutt (USA) and Jan Van den Broeck (Belgium).

Holusa beat Aman in the qualifying heat on the opening day of the competition.

The 1.500m men and women finals will be held later on today. Ethiopia will be represented by Genzebe Dibaba and Tizita Bogale in the women’s and Mekonnen Gebremedhin and Aman Wote in the men’.
