Yanga face St. George in semifinals

Tanzanian giants Yanga face off with St.George of Ethiopia in an eagerly anticipated semifinal match up on Thursday at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Yanga scrapped through to the last four after a 6-5 win over Red Sea of Eritrea on post match penalties. Coach Sam Timbe was under no illusions blaming poor preparation and inconsistency for their below par performance against the plucky Eritreans.

He will hope that his misfiring striker led by Zambian International Davies Mwape and Ghanaian Kenneth Asamoah can come up with the goods on Thursday. The coach has his task cut out for him today following St. George’s impressive run where they topped Group C before easily sweeping aside Vital O’ in their quarterfinal match.

Italian coach Giussepe Dossena has played a big role in their ascendance by coming up with a winning outfit that not only wins, but plays entertaining football along the way.

St.George boosts of one of the most lethal attacking formations in the 2011 Cecafa Kagame cup with prolific striker Salhadin Said topping the charts with six goals as well as Ghanaian Prince Godwin has three goals. Ugandans Antony Bongole and Sula Matovu each have scored twice.

The Ethiopians will start as marginal but coach Coach Dossena would not be drawn to predict the outcome saying it will be a tough encounter.

Our Prediction:Yanga 1 St.George 2.
