Ethiopia Football: Dedebit & Eth. Coffee maintain lead, St. George to face Defence tomorrow

Addis Ababa – Dedebit FC and Ethiopian Coffee  maintained their lead of the Ethiopian Premier League with victories over Trans Ethiopia (2-0) and Adama City (2-1) respectively today, reported Ermias Amare.

Meanwhile, the much anticipated match between defending champions St. George and Defence Force will take place here tomorrow. Only one point separate the two teams.

Dedebit defeated Trans Ethiopia 2-0 in Adigrat with goals coming from their leading goal scorer Getaneh Kebede and their foreign import Shaibu Gabriel.

Adama led Ethiopian Coffee 1-0 with Abiy Moges’ goal but Tesfaye Bekele leveled the score before the break, and Dawit Estifanos scoring the winning goal from spot kick on the 84th minute.

In other matches played today, Sidama Coffee beat Mugher Cement 1-0 with Mengistu Tadesse getting the lone goal of the game. Meanwhile Hawassa City could only draw 1-1 with last-placed Fincha Sugar despite playing at home.

The EEPCO vs Lideta Nyala encounter here in the capital was postponed for tomorrow due to heavy rain.
