2012 London Olympic Women Soccer: Ethiopia takes on Ghana tomorrow

Accra, Ghana – Ethiopian national women soccer team “Lucy” will face the “Black Queens” of Ghana in in the Second Round return leg match for the 2012 London Olympic Games here tomorrow.

The Ethiopian team won the first leg match 1-0 in Addis Ababa two weeks ago thanks to a goal from Shitaye Sissaye, but failed to add more goals as the Black Queens were playing with just 9 players the last ten minutes of the game as two of their members were sent off.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ghana has indicated today that as part of an effort to rally support for the Queens and ensure their qualification to the next stage, fans can watch tomorrow’s match for free.

Ethiopia beat DR Congo 3-0 (0-0 & 3-0) and Ghana defeated Guinea 7-1 (2-0 & 5-1) on aggregate scores to reach the second round of the competition.

There are currently 8 teams left competing for the coveted 2 spots to represent Africa at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
