Den Haag, The Netherlands – Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia ran a personal best time of 59:37 to win the 37th edition of ABN AMRO City-Pier-City men half Marathon here yesterday.

Lelisa’s fellow countryman, Azmeraw Bekele came in second in 59:39, also a personal best time.

Meanwhile, Filomena Chepchirchir of Kenya (1:09.06) won the women’s category, followed by Tsegereda Girma of Ethiopia (1:10.30) in second.  Both ran personal best time.

Over 30,000 competitors took part over several distances on a day.
