Ethiopia Premier League: Hawassa City overtakes Dedebit for 3rd place

Fincha – Hawassa City continues its climb in the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) with a 2-1 win over Fincha Sugar here today.

Hawassa has now overtaken Dedebit FC and sits in 3rd place. However Dedebit has 2 matches in hand and should it win any of its match, it could reverse the situation once again.

Although it was Fincha who scored first, Hawassa responded with two goals from Shimeles Bekele and Bereket Yisak to win the game, reported Ermias Amare on his FaceBook page.

Meanwhile, Sidama Coffee surprised Mugher Cement 1-0 in Assela and moved up 3 notches to 9th place. This also marked the second win of the season for the southern team.

Sebeta City used its home field advantage to defeat CBE 2-1, while Harar Brewery defeated Dire Dawa City 2-0 in the eastern derby.

Four other matches were postponed because St. George and Dedebit FC’s participation in African clubs competitions and various other reasons.
