Genzebe Dibaba wins 7th Cross Internacional de Atapuerca

Atapuerca (Burgos), Spain – Genzebe Diba, youngest sister of Ethiopia’s world class athletes Tirunesh and Ejegayehu Dibaba, defeated World ChampionEmily Chebet of Kenya to win the 7th Cross Internacional de Atapuerca here today.

In the men’s category, Teklemariam Medhin of Eritrea shocked Joseph Ebuya of Kenya. Five of the top 10 finishers hailed from Eritrea.

Genzebe, 19, dominated the race to retain the title she won here last year, 10 seconds clear of World champion Chebet.
