Ashu Kasim of Ethiopia, followed by fellow compatriot athletes Alemitu Abera and Amane Gobena, won the 32nd Edition of the Eurasia Women’s Marathon here today.ÂIn men’s category, Vincent Kiplagat finished first (2:10.39) ahead of Dereje Yadette Woldegiorgis (2:11.53) and Girma Assefa of. Â
In “15 km” men’s category, Abayneh Ayele Woldegiorgis of Ethiopia came in first, with Sang Benard Cheruiyot of Kenya and Workinesh Tesfa of Ethiopia second and third respectively.Â
In “15 km” women’s category, Belaynesh Oljira of Ethiopia finished second. Â
Thus, Ethiopia won eight and Kenya won three medals in “marathon” and “15 km” events in men’s and women’s categories.Â
A total of one million USD of prize was distributed to the athletes in the marathon.Â
